ZyncTools does not receive your files. Every tool runs inside your browser, so there is no upload step and nothing to store on our side.
How the tools work
When you choose a file, the browser hands it to the page through the standard File API. The tool reads it into memory, does the work with JavaScript and WebAssembly, and hands you back a result. That whole sequence happens on your device. No network request carries your file anywhere, and closing the tab discards everything.
You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and run any tool. You will see requests for the page's own scripts and nothing containing your file.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. Specifically:
- No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for.
- No file contents or file names ever leave your device.
- No cookies are set by ZyncTools.
- No advertising or tracking scripts are loaded.
Analytics
None is currently enabled. The site ships with an analytics module that is switched off — with no provider configured it makes no request and stores nothing.
If it is ever turned on it will be a cookie-free page counter such as GoatCounter or Plausible, and this section will say so. Even then it would record only which pages are opened. It could not see your files under any configuration, because your files never leave your browser to begin with.
What is stored locally
One item in your browser's localStorage: the key
zynctools-theme, holding dark, light
or midnight. It never leaves your browser and you can clear it
from your browser settings at any time.
Third parties
Some tools load an open-source library the first time you use them — for example pdf-lib for PDF editing, Tesseract for OCR, or lamejs for MP3 encoding. These come from the jsDelivr CDN, which will see your IP address and the name of the file being requested, exactly as it would for any other site. It does not see your files, because your files are never part of that request.
Fonts are served from this domain, not from Google. Pages used to pull Inter from Google Fonts, which handed your IP address to Google on every single page view before anything had even rendered. The font file now ships with the site, so loading a page here contacts nobody but this server.
If you would rather avoid the library requests too, the project is open source and can be run entirely on your own network, with those libraries served from your own domain.
Hosting
The site is static files served over HTTPS. The host keeps standard server logs, which typically include IP addresses and requested paths. We do not add analytics on top of that.
Children
The service is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. The core commitment — that your files stay on your device — is architectural rather than a promise, so it is not something a policy update can quietly reverse.
